
Ondo Lawmaker, Atere Facilitates Progressive Meeting with Chairman Owolabi, Pledges Maximum Support

The Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government Area, Hon. Model Esan Owolabi, received a courtesy visit from Hon. Fatai Atere, the Honorable Member representing Akoko Northwest Constituency One in the Ondo State House of Assembly. Hon. Atere was accompanied by his cabinet aides, including the Arigidi/Erusu LCDA Chairman and his vice.
The visit, which took place on Monday, September 29, 2025, marked a significant political milestone in the council area. Hon. Atere expressed his joy and described Chairman Owolabi as “the right peg in a horizontal hole.”
Hon. Atere congratulated Chairman Owolabi on his impressive achievements, highlighting his administration’s impact on infrastructural development, education, security, relative peace, and job facilitation for unemployed graduates. He emphasized the need for maximum support from all stakeholders, urging those with selfish interests to refrain from distracting the Chairman.
The Local Government Vice Chairman, Mrs. Eunice Bello, commended Chairman Owolabi’s leadership as exceptional and pledged her total cooperation. The Leader of the House assured the Chairman of the lawmakers’ continued support and collaboration.
The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Musa Olasehinde, thanked Hon. Atere for facilitating the progressive meeting, emphasizing the local government’s peaceful and progressive atmosphere under Chairman Owolabi’s leadership.
The LCDA Chairman in Arigidi/Erusu, Hon. Abiola Ojo, appreciated Hon. Atere for the meeting and pledged his loyalty and cooperation with Chairman Owolabi’s administration.
Chairman Owolabi appreciated Hon. Atere’s courtesy visit and described the meeting as timely. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining inclusive politics and sought cooperation from all stakeholders to build the local government of their collective dreams.
After the meeting, Chairman Owolabi took Hon. Atere on an inspection tour of the secretariat, including the Council Lawmakers Complex, to highlight the damage caused by termites. He solicited Hon. Atere’s support in conveying his message to the appropriate authorities to aid in renovating the buildings.
