JUST IN: Government workers receive annual leave bonus

Ondo State workers have begun receiving their 2025 leave bonus following approval from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who also cleared arrears of pension and hazard allowances for health workers in the state.
The approval came after a crucial meeting between top government officials and the state leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), led by Comrades Ademola Olapade and Segun Ajiboye, respectively.
WESTERN POST reports that some workers have started receiving alerts for their leave bonus payments.
However, a number of recipients complained of short payments, while others were overpaid, a situation blamed on technical glitches in the payment platform.
The NLC and JNC had previously threatened to embark on industrial action over delays in workers’ allowances, a move that reportedly pressured the government to expedite the payments.
