Government approves 13th month salary for all workers
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the payment of a 13th-month salary bonus for state workers in 2025. He made the announcement at the Secretariat in Ibadan while inaugurating the Governing Board of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso.
Makinde later confirmed on his X page that the 13th-month salary has been part of his administration’s tradition since he took office in 2019. He also stated that the arrears from the new minimum wage, which he promised to settle at the end of September, will be paid together with the December salary.
He added that the government is working to resolve the strike by medical lecturers at the teaching hospital.
The newly inaugurated board is chaired by Prof Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, with Mr Aderemi Adediji as Secretary. Other members include Mr Gabriel Oyelade, Dr Adebayo Taiwo, Mrs Agnes Isola, Dr Kehinde Ayinde, Prof Adebayo Olakulehin, Prof Adenike Olugbenga-Bello, and Dr Oluwajoba Olayinka.
The board chairman thanked the governor and promised to support the government’s plan to upgrade the teaching hospital into a world-class facility.
