OSUN ACCORD GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY: CLEMENT BAMIGBOLA EMERGES FACTIONAL CANDIDATE

Clement Bamigbola has emerged as the factional governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Osun State following the party’s governorship primary election.
According to results announced at the end of the primary, Bamigbola polled a total of 1,732 votes to defeat Governor Ademola Adeleke, who garnered 241 votes.

The outcome of the primary indicates a clear victory for Bamigbola, whose supporters described the process as a reflection of the will of party delegates. Party officials present at the exercise confirmed that the primary was conducted in line with the guidelines agreed upon by the faction.
Speaking after his emergence, Bamigbola expressed gratitude to delegates for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to work towards uniting the party and presenting a credible alternative to the people of Osun State. He emphasized his commitment to people-oriented governance, inclusive development, and strengthening party structures ahead of the governorship election.

The primary, however, is described as factional, highlighting the internal divisions currently affecting the Accord Party in Osun State. Political observers note that the development may further shape alignments and negotiations as the election season approaches.
Meanwhile, reactions are expected from other stakeholders within the party as discussions continue on reconciliation and the recognition of candidates by the party’s national leadership and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
