Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Chairman Owolabi Hand Over Brand-New *Vehicles to Akoko Northwest Obas

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has flagged off the distribution of brand-new vehicles to traditional rulers in Akoko Northwest Local Government Area, as part of his administration’s commitment to improving their welfare and strengthening the traditional institution.

The vehicles—Toyota Fortuner SUVs for Grade ‘A’ Obas and Toyota Corolla Cross SUVs for Grade ‘B’ and ‘C’ Obas—symbolise dignity, honour, and respect for the revered monarchs.

The official presentation ceremony took place at the Akoko Northwest Local Government Secretariat, where the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Model Esan Owolabi, formally handed over the vehicle keys to the beneficiaries.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Owolabi congratulated the traditional rulers and commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering commitment to grassroots development, inclusivity, and the welfare of traditional institutions. He described the gesture as part of the governor’s broader initiative to support traditional rulers while promoting peace, unity, and stability across the state.

The traditional rulers, speaking through their chairman, the Owa of Ogbagi Akoko, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the thoughtful gesture and pledged their continued support for his administration.

The provision of the vehicles is expected to significantly enhance the dignity, mobility, and effectiveness of the Obas in the discharge of their traditional responsibilities.
