Inspector Yakubu, attached to the 13 Police Mobile Force (PMF) and OPS Zenda Joint Task Force, reportedly disappeared on June 13, 2025, at Tse Keleke, approximately 10 kilometres from Daudu.
According to security sources, actionable intelligence led operatives on December 18, around 9:30 a.m., to a decomposed body spotted in a bush near the location where the officer was last seen.
A combined team, including ACPOL Metro Makurdi, DPO Daudu, police medical officers, State Intelligence Service (SIS) operatives, personnel from the 13 PMF, OPS Zenda JTF, Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU), and Benue State Civil Protection Guards, was deployed to the site. The skeletal remains were recovered and transported to the 13 PMF base for further examination.
Police authorities confirmed that, following consultations and completion of necessary procedures, the remains will be handed over to Inspector Yakubu’s family for proper burial
