Popular Musician Orlando West Is Dead

The Nigerian music industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of popular and highly sought-after musician, Orlando West, a protégé of the legendary Dr Orlando Owoh.
The sad news was confirmed during a phone conversation with Agbaletu lead anchor, Dele Adeyanju, by the Chief Executive Officer of Lakers Band — the music group that provided Orlando West with a strong platform after he relocated to the southern part of the country.
According to the Lakers Band CEO, Orlando West passed away after battling an illness. Details surrounding the nature and duration of the illness were not disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
Born in Owo, Ondo State, Orlando West was a gifted vocalist whose musical style and stage presence earned him admiration among fans of traditional and contemporary highlife music. As a protégé of the late Dr Orlando Owoh, he carried forward elements of the iconic musician’s legacy while carving out his own identity in the industry.
