Drunk Policeman Frees 13 Prisoners, Tells Them to Go Celebrate New Year

A bizarre and controversial incident has sparked outrage and amusement in equal measure after a Zambian police officer allegedly freed 13 detainees while under the influence of alcohol, instructing them to go and celebrate the New Year.
According to local reports, the incident occurred at a police holding facility in Zambia on New Year’s Eve. The officer, who was on duty at the time, was said to have consumed a significant amount of alcohol before deciding to unlock the cells and release the detainees without authorisation.

Witnesses disclosed that the officer reportedly told the freed prisoners to “go and celebrate the New Year” before walking away from his post. The 13 individuals, who were being held for various minor and non-violent offences, reportedly left the station without resistance or supervision.
The unusual jailbreak quickly came to the attention of senior police authorities, prompting an immediate internal
