Abuja, January 7, 2026 — The National Coordinator of the World Soccer Legends War Against Cancer International Charity Football Match, Mr. Jacob Onu, paid a working visit to the Director-General of the National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment (NICRAT), Prof. Usman Aliyu Malami, at the Institute’s new corporate headquarters in Abuja.
The visit was aimed at briefing the Director-General on the purpose and objectives of the proposed partnership between the World Soccer Legends initiative and the China–Africa Economic and Trade Council, in support of the forthcoming World Soccer Legends War Against Cancer International Charity Football Match, Nigeria 2026.
During the meeting, Mr. Onu formally presented the official match ball and jerseys for the 2026 charity match to Prof. Malami. The sports kits were produced and donated by INA Sports, a reputable Chinese sports kitting brand based in Hunan Province, China.
The engagement underscored NICRAT’s commitment to strategic collaborations that promote cancer awareness, prevention, and control through innovative platforms such as sports and international partnerships.
