*ONDO SOUTH: WHAT THE HEALTH SECTOR STANDS TO BENEFIT WHEN PSO IS ELECTED*
1 Strong Legislative Advocacy for Improved Healthcare Infrastructure: As an expert in the medical field for several decades, the state and particularly the district will witness upgrading of general hospitals in all the LGAs – Okitipupa, Irele, Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Odigbo, and Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo through collaborations.
2.Attraction of Federal Health Projects & Funding
His academic and medical networks will help Ondo South secure health intervention projects nationally and internationally.
3. *Establishment of a Federal Medical Centre or Specialist Annex
With a professor leading representation, an upgraded Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Annex in Okitipupa and or the establishment of a federal teaching hospital. This would not only help bolster healthcare delivery in the region but will greatly reduce medical referral stress to Akure, Owo, Ondo or outside the state.
4. Better Access to Affordable Healthcare
Through legislative interventions, those citizens living in the riverine can have expansion of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) to their communities like *”Mobile health clinics for riverine areas like Ilaje and Ese-Odo.”*
(5) *Health Education, Prevention, and Community Wellness*
As an academician, PSO will regularly sponsor medical outreach programs and scholarship programs for all medical students.
(6) Improved Emergency & Disaster Response System
Ondo South faces flooding, road accidents, and emergency gaps.
PSO, as a boost to the effort of the Ondo state government, more time will be created to lobby for consolidation of Emergency Response Units (ERU) in strategic parts of the region.
(7) Youth Empowerment Through Health-Related Jobs
As a professor with strong institutional links, local production of medical consumables will be encouraged.
(8) *Advancement of Medical Research & Innovation*
Community-based health research to tackle malaria, maternal mortality, environmental diseases, and drug abuse will be prioritised in partnerships with some universities and health institutions to drive innovation.
(9) Strengthened Health Governance & Accountability
With PSO’s academic and professional discipline:
Monitoring health project implementation becomes stronger.
(10) Special Focus on Rural & Riverine Communities to support the efforts of Gov Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, we shall ensure sponsoring bills that will bring back the medically neglected region to limelight.
These we will prioritize and execute not with our strength and fund but with the constituency projects allowance. We intend to truly transform the health landscape of Ondo South through:
