Germany Backs Tinubu as $2.3bn Power Upgrade Plan Returns to Track
Germany has confirmed that the $2.3 billion Siemens Presidential Power Initiative, originally launched to upgrade Nigeria’s transmission and distribution network, remained largely dormant under the previous administration but has regained momentum under President Bola Tinubu.
German officials say the revived partnership aims to strengthen grid stability and expand electricity supply, while Nigeria continues efforts to unlock its vast gas resources to support power generation and broader energy security.
