
Father of ex-deputy governor abducted on way to church

Gunmen have abducted HRH Francis Igwe, the traditional ruler of Ndufu-Alike community, Ikwo Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.
The gunmen abducted Igwe, who is the father of a former deputy governor of the state, Kelechi Igwe, on Sunday morning on his way to church in the community.
Sources disclosed that the monarch was driving when armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted his vehicle.
The sources further revealed that the hoodlums double-crossed him, forced him out of his car and whisked him away on their motorcycle to an undisclosed location.
The chairman of the local government, Sunday Nwankwo, confirmed the incident.
He said the council was working with security agencies to assemble available information and facilitate his rescue.
