Popular actress, Victoria Ajibola, has opened up about a traumatic experience in which she was almost raped by her boss in the movie industry nearly three decades ago.

Speaking during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Ajibola recounted how the incident occurred in Lagos in 1999 when she attended a rehearsal session.

According to the actress, after the rehearsal ended, her boss asked her to wait behind for what she assumed would be a routine discussion about work. However, the situation quickly turned violent and frightening.

Ajibola revealed that instead of a professional conversation, her boss allegedly attempted to rape her. She said he physically assaulted her, inflicted injuries on her eyes, and subjected her to severe beating while trying to overpower her.

Describing the terrifying moment, she said she eventually stopped resisting out of fear that continued struggle could cost her life.

“In 1999, after rehearsal, he asked me to wait to see him. I thought he wanted to have a discussion with me. The next thing, he wanted to rape me. He beat me, wounded my eyes and did all sorts of things. At the end of the day, I gave up the fight and released myself for him to rape me so I can be alive,” she said.

Ajibola explained that in what she described as a twist of fate, her alleged attacker was unable to carry out the act.

“But by the time he wanted to get to it, maybe because he had really stressed himself, he had lost erection. That was how I escaped being raped,” she added.

The actress did not disclose the identity of the individual involved but said the experience left a lasting emotional scar.

Her revelation adds to ongoing conversations about sexual harassment and abuse within the entertainment industry, particularly incidents that often go unreported due to fear, stigma, and power imbalances.
