Ondo APC Elders celebrate Iji appointment, says it is well deserved

The APC Elders Movement in Ondo State has congratulated Ambassador Sola Iji on his appointment as Nigeria’s envoy to Russia by President Bola Tinubu.

In a congratulatory statement signed by the Coordinator of the body, Otunba Agboola Kelly, the group described the appointment as well-deserved, highlighting Ambassador Iji’s longstanding contributions to progressive politics in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.

“Chief Sola Iji, is a tested diplomat, lawyer, and APC chieftain, who has consistently demonstrated excellence, dedication, and a commitment to national service.”

The body noted his previous roles, including laying foundational work for progressive parties in the state from the Alliance for Democracy (AD) and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) eras to the emergence of the APC, making him a key figure in the party’s growth and successes in Ondo.

The elders lauded President Tinubu for recognizing merit and competence in the appointment, viewing it as a reflection of trust in Iji’s ability to strengthen Nigeria-Russia bilateral relations, advance diplomatic objectives, and represent the country effectively on the global stage.

They expressed confidence that Ambassador Iji would excel in his new role, bringing pride to Ondo State, the APC, and Nigeria as a whole.

The group wished him success, wisdom, and divine guidance in discharging his duties, while urging continued support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
