Time for Balance: Akoko South East’s Turn to Lead the Federal Constituency

In the spirit of fairness, equity, and justice, it is both reasonable and necessary for Akoko South West to support Akoko South East in producing the next representative for the Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general elections.

A careful review of the history of representation since the return to democracy in 1999 reveals a noticeable imbalance.

From this sequence, it is evident that Akoko South West has enjoyed a longer and more consistent hold on the seat in recent years, creating a gap in balanced representation.
It is important to emphasize that this Federal Constituency is made up of two Local Governments—Akoko South East and Akoko South West. Therefore, the principle of rotational representation should be upheld to promote inclusiveness and mutual respect. The existence of two State constituencies in Akoko South West is strictly for State Assembly representation and should not be used to justify continued dominance at the federal level.

For the sake of unity, fairness, and political stability, this is the appropriate time for Akoko South East to take its rightful turn. Supporting this course is not merely a political decision—it is a commitment to justice, equity, and the long-term cohesion of the constituency.
