The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has rekindled hope for Nigerian businesses in Türkiye by creating a platform that strengthens bilateral cooperation and fosters innovation-driven solutions for national development. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nigeria and Türkiye marks a significant milestone, emphasizing mutual values, shared opportunities, and a renewed commitment to economic collaboration.
In furtherance of this vision, the Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has encouraged Nigerian youths in the diaspora to embrace their roles as ambassadors of the nation. She urged them to collaborate closely with her office as a strategic gateway for diaspora engagement, investment opportunities, and sustainable development initiatives. She also emphasized the importance of Nigerian entrepreneurs in Türkiye maintaining active relationships with Nigerian embassies to enhance coordination and support.
This renewed engagement signals a strengthening Nigerian economy and a promising future, driven by the bold economic policies of President Tinubu.
These policies continue to gain recognition globally, with institutions such as the World Bank acknowledging Nigeria’s growing contributions to global economic indices.
Diaspora businesses are uniquely positioned to compete on the global stage, leveraging advanced technology and innovative ideas that can be harnessed to drive transformation back home. Notably, this engagement brought together key stakeholders, including Seyi Tinubu, ministers across critical sectors, heads of strategic government agencies such as the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), the Nigerian Embassy in Ankara, leadership of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), alongside Nigerian students, families, and business leaders in Türkiye.
This development marks a new wave of opportunity for Nigerians residing in Türkiye to harness bilateral relations and bridge economic gaps between both nations. It underscores Nigeria’s readiness to actively engage its diaspora community and its unwavering commitment to national development.
