Over the last 16 years, from 2010 to 2026, Ondo North Senatorial District has seen its Senate seat firmly controlled solely by Akoko representatives, making it politically imperative to honor the rotational agreement and rotate to Owo/Ose now for fair power distribution across this unified axis. Senator Robert Ajayi Boroffice from Oka Akoko in Akoko South West LGA dominated from 2011 to 2023 over three terms, first with the Labour Party and later the APC, cementing Akokos extended grip. This was followed by Senator Emmanuel Olajide Ipinsagba from Ikare Akoko in Akoko North East LGA, serving since June 2023 and solidifying 16 straight years of Akoko monopoly on the senatorial platform.
This lopsided dominance undermines Ondo Norths unity as one indivisible political family, where the Senates core function demands rotational equity to balance power sharing among Akoko North, Akoko South, and Owo-Ose federal constituencies. Owo/Ose has steadfastly delivered over 40 percent of total votes to Akoko candidates in every election cycle, fueling their massive primary and general election sweeps from Boroffices APC triumphs to Ipinsagbas landslides, proving its unmatched loyalty. With such generosity, Akoko must politically reciprocate by honoring the rotation pact, ensuring no axis feels shortchanged in this shared Ondo North enterprise.
Owo/Ose merits the next Senator to redistribute influence equitably, channeling its ancient kingdom prestige, teeming population, and economic vitality into advocating for sidelined priorities like rural roads and resource equity that Ondo North deserve. Honoring rotation restores true equilibrium, averts brewing intra district tensions, and upholds the gentlemanly agreement binding Ondo Norths progressives.
