Peter Obi Lied to Me” – Apostle Kassy Chukwu Explains Switch to Tinubu

Apostle Kassy Chukwu has publicly withdrawn his support for Peter Obi, accusing him of misleading him and citing recent political alliances.
In a now-viral video, he claimed that he once believed strongly in Obi’s ambition to become Nigeria’s president, which led him to openly campaign for the former Anambra State governor.
The cleric now backs President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and says he will vote for him in 2027.

“Peter Obi lied to me. I started insulting Tinubu and supporting Peter Obi. Now Peter Obi has joined the same Atiku, who they once said was bad,” he said.

The cleric admitted that his earlier support for Obi influenced him to criticise other political figures, including Tinubu.

However, he suggested that some supporters of Obi ignored or failed to highlight certain political developments at the time, which he now finds significant.

Referencing recent political alignments, Apostle Chukwu pointed to Obi’s association with figures such as Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso, noting that these were individuals previously criticised by Obi’s supporters.

According to him, this development contributed to his decision to withdraw his support.

Addressing backlash over his stance, the cleric maintained that he has the right to support any candidate of his choice.

“I have said it before 2027, I will vote for Asiwaju. Do whatever you want. Nobody is a mumu,” he added.
