Ondo SSG resigns to contest Senate seat
The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, has resigned from his position to pursue a seat in the Senate representing Ondo Central Senatorial District.
Fasoranti disclosed his resignation and political ambition in a formal expression of interest made available to journalists, where he confirmed his intention to join the senatorial race in the forthcoming general elections.
He said his decision was motivated by his desire to contribute more directly to national development and to improve representation for the people of Ondo Central.
According to him, his over three decades of experience in the medical profession and public service has provided him with deep exposure to governance, policy formulation, and service delivery.
He noted that he previously worked at the State House Medical Centre, Abuja, where he rose to the directorate cadre before retiring in 2024, and later served in the Ondo State Government.
Fasoranti added that his move into politics is aimed at strengthening people-focused representation and ensuring that communities in the senatorial district benefit more from democratic governance.
He expressed confidence that effective legislative representation would help address development gaps and improve the welfare of constituents.
The former SSG called on residents of Ondo West, Ondo East, Ifedore, Akure South, Akure North, and Idanre Local Government Areas to support his aspiration.
He said he remains committed to a campaign focused on development, inclusion, and addressing the needs of the people of Ondo Central.
