Himma Leadership Meets Prof. Mohammed Gana Yisa at UniAbuja to Discuss Agricultural Partnership

The leadership of the Himma Youth Farmers Association of Nigeria (HYFAN) on September 30, 2025, held a strategic meeting with Prof. Mohammed Gana Yisa, Ambassador of Nigeria to Japan, at the University of Abuja.

The delegation was led by Ahmed Yusuf, National President (NP) of HYFAN, and ably represented by Anthony Adeola Oladejo, National Vice President and Chairman of the Working Committee, alongside Miss Deborah Omola, National Secretary.

Meeting Highlights

The meeting, which commenced at 11:53 AM and ended at 1:30 PM, began with an introduction by Prof. Yisa, who shared insights into his educational background, rich political experience as former Commissioner for Agriculture in Kwara State, and service as Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Representatives.

In response, NP Ahmed Yusuf presented the vision and mission of HYFAN, highlighting its ongoing partnerships and the association’s pursuit of funding support through Natfund. He further proposed a partnership with Prof. Yisa focused on mechanization and training for farmers, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and youth empowerment.

Prof. Yisa’s Feedback

Prof. Yisa welcomed the initiative, describing it as a commendable project with strong potential to impact food security and economic growth. However, he emphasized the need to secure land, funds, inputs, and mechanization facilities as vital prerequisites for success.

He further pledged to:

Convene a meeting with his team,

Engage the University of Abuja administration, and

Schedule a follow-up session with HYFAN to refine the partnership framework.
