Ondo Police Arrest Two Suspects, Recover Locally Made Pistol in Ore

INTELLIGENCE-LED POLICING: ONDO COMMAND NABS TWO, RECOVERS LOCALLY MADE PISTOL

In furtherance of the innovative and people-centered policing philosophy of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, which emphasizes proactive intelligence gathering and swift response to security information, operatives of the Ore Division have recorded yet another breakthrough.

Acting on a credible tip-off from a reliable source, on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., the Divisional Police Officer, Ore, led his team to raid a mechanic workshop located off Okitipupa Road, Ore. During the operation, two suspects — one Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, both males and residents of Ore — were arrested.

A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol with one live cartridge. The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to unravel the source of the firearm and ascertain possible links with other criminal elements in the area.

The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, psc(+), mnips, commended the officers for their swift action and reiterated that the Command remains steadfast in its resolve to rid the state of crime and criminality. He equally appreciated members of the public for their timely and useful information, urging them to continue partnering with the Police to ensure a safer society.
