Chairman Owolabi Marks Army Remembrance Day With Church Service in Ogbagi Akoko

The Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government Area, Hon. Esan Owolabi, has commenced activities to commemorate the 2026 Army Remembrance Day with a special church service.

The Chairman worshipped on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at St. John Anglican Church, Ogbagi Akoko, Ondo State, ahead of the official celebration scheduled for January 15, 2026.

Hon. Owolabi was represented at the service by the Local Government Secretary, Hon. Olasehinde Musa, and the Chief Press Secretary, Olagoke Adeyanju. Several local government staff members were also in attendance.

During the service, the presiding minister, Ven. Adeleke, delivered a sermon centered on love, unity, and harmony. He commended the administration of Hon. Esan Owolabi for its quality leadership and commitment to good governance. The Bible reading was taken from Acts 19:1–6.

Ven. Adeleke also spoke on the need for government reforms and true local government autonomy. He urged Nigerian youths to shun indiscipline and embrace education as a pathway to national development.

In his remarks, Hon. Olasehinde Musa expressed appreciation to the church congregation for their warm reception. He congratulated retired legion officers and prayed that their sacrifices for the nation would never be in vain.

He further assured the people that the administration of Hon. Esan Owolabi remains committed to delivering good governance without discrimination.
