Hon. Esan Owolabi Receives Award of Excellence from The Focus Magazine Publisher

The Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government Area, Hon. Esan Owolabi, has been honoured with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his leadership, commitment to good governance, and grassroots development.
The award was presented by Comrade Ayodele Ologunola, Publisher of The Focus Magazine and State Treasurer of the Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers, Ondo State, during a modest but significant ceremony attended by key local government officials.
Presenting the award, Comrade Ologunola commended Hon. Owolabi for his people-oriented administration and visible developmental efforts across Akoko North West, noting that his leadership style reflects accountability, inclusiveness, and dedication to public service.

In his response, Hon. Esan Owolabi expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing the award as a motivation to do more for the people of the local government. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparent governance and sustainable development at the grassroots level.

Dignitaries in attendance at the event included Mr. Afeni Emmanuel, Director of Finance and Supply; Mr. Areun Omotayo Ebenezer, Local Government Cashier; and Hon. Tanimola Emmanuel, Secretary of Arigidi–Erusu LCDA. The officials praised the chairman’s leadership and lauded the media for recognizing excellence in public service.

The event further underscored the role of responsible journalism in promoting good governance and encouraging public office holders to remain committed to service delivery and accountability.
