Edo Local Government Chairman Impeached

The Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Council, Hon. Alabi Bliss Oshionogue, has been removed from office.
His impeachment was conveyed in a letter endorsed by seven councillors.
The development came just hours after members of the Edo State House of Assembly were unable to broker peace between the chairman and the seven aggrieved councillors.
Reports indicate that the impeachment Reports indicate that the impeachment followed moves by three councillors—who were absent from the meeting with the lawmakers—to remove the seven dissenting councillors.
It was further gathered that the seats of the seven councillors were declared vacant, prompting them to swiftly converge in Igarra, the headquarters of Akoko-Edo Local Government, where they issued the impeachment letter.
