ONDO STATE @50: YOUTHS MOBILIZE MASSIVE SUPPORT, CELEBRATE TRAILBLAZERS PRINCESS OLADUNNI ODU, HON. TIMEHIN ADELEGBE, DR. OLUMUYIWA DARAMOLA (DOD) AMONG OTHERS
As Ondo State proudly marks its Golden Jubilee — 50 years of creation, resilience, growth, and collective achievement — the youth constituency has emerged as one of the most vibrant and visible forces driving the commemoration.
Across various locations in the state, young people have rallied in large numbers, proudly wearing specially branded T-shirts and accessories to celebrate the @50 milestone and to honour distinguished individuals whose lives and legacies continue to inspire the next generation.
Among those receiving overwhelming admiration and endorsement from the youths is *Princess Oladunni Odu*, the first female Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG) in the history of the state. Her trailblazing service, topnotch deliverables, and enduring commitment to good governance have earned her widespread recognition. Youth groups have specially produced and brandished commemorative T-shirts bearing her name and image, with the inscription “A Life of Legacy” prominently displayed. A remarkable show and testament to the deep respect and affection she commands among young Ondo indigenes.
Similarly, two other outstanding sons of the state were visibly noticed in the commemoration and been prominently celebrated by the youth movement; Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, Member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, whose dedication to grassroots development, legislative excellence, and youth empowerment has resonated strongly with the younger generation.
An illustrious son of Ikale, Dr. Olumuyiwa Daramola (DOD), a respected professional and community leader whose consistent contributions to human capital development and service to Ondo State have also been recognised through the widespread display of anniversary-branded materials bearing his name, with the Governor visibly displayed along all T-Shirts.
The massive participation of youths in the @50 celebrations reflects a strong sense of pride, ownership, and optimism about the future of Ondo State. Their spontaneous mobilization demonstrates that the golden jubilee is not merely a government event, but a people’s celebration — one being enthusiastically embraced and amplified by the younger generation.
The 50th anniversary of Ondo State has equally attracted glowing tributes and goodwill messages from eminent personalities across Nigeria and the international community, further emphasizing the state’s national and global relevance after five decades of existence.
The youth of Ondo State used this occasion to reaffirm their commitment to building on the foundation laid by past and present leaders, while calling on all stakeholders to sustain inclusive development, good governance, and opportunities that will allow the next generation to thrive.
