Ramadan: Government Approves Early Payment of March Salary for Workers

Governor Ahmed Aliyu has approved the payment of March salaries to all categories of civil servants in Sokoto State to support workers during the holy month of Ramadan.
The approval is aimed at easing the financial burden on workers and enabling them to adequately prepare for the fasting period, which is a time of spiritual reflection, charity, and increased family responsibilities for Muslims.
According to a statement from the Sokoto State Government, the early salary payment will cover all civil servants, including those in the core civil service, local government employees, and pensioners across the state.

Governor Aliyu noted that the decision reflects his administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers and retirees. He emphasized that the government understands the economic pressures many families face, especially during religious seasons such as Ramadan.
He also urged workers to continue to support the policies and programmes of his administration aimed at improving governance and development across Sokoto State.
The governor further encouraged residents to use the Ramadan period to pray for peace, unity, and progress in Sokoto State and Nigeria as a whole.
Many civil servants in the state have welcomed the development, describing the early payment as timely and helpful, particularly as households prepare for increased expenses associated with the fasting month.
The gesture is part of ongoing efforts by the Sokoto State Government to prioritize workers’ welfare and ensure financial stability for public servants.
