The leadership of the Akoko Youth Forum on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Ondo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, at his office in Akure the Ondo State Capital.

The delegation, comprising the Forum’s newly elected executives, Board of Trustee members and key stakeholders of the Forum, said the visit was to Felicitates with him on the occasion of his birthday and to familiarise with the state chairman and to further congratulate him on his emergence as APC State Chairman.

Hon. Babatunde, who’s popularly Called *_Ameachi,* received the delegation warmly and listened as they outlined their plans for youth engagement across the four local Government areas of Akoko land.

Introducing the team, the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Hon. Kayode Katola, formally presented the new executive members to the chairman. He also presented the Forum’s certificate of registration issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission. Hon. Katola clarified that the Forum is registered as a community-based association with full legal backing to mobilise and represent youth across the four local government areas that make up the geographical areas of Akoko land. He noted that the structure was deliberate, designed to ensure lawful operation, broad inclusion, and coordinated advocacy on issues affecting young people in Akoko.

The President-elect of the Forum, Hon. Ojumu Joseph, expressed appreciation for the reception and assured the chairman that his administration would prioritise unity and development in Akoko. He however pledged to work with critical stakeholders and political leaders of Akoko origin to attract projects that address unemployment, education gaps, insecurity and community infrastructure needs.

Responding, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde congratulated the president-elect and his executives on their victory. He described the President-elect as a youth-focused oriented leader, given the fact he has known him for a very long time and he believes he will surely deliver on the sets mandate as he urged him to maintain discipline and focus in tasks put before him.

The APC chairman advised that the new executives should endeavor to consult widely with traditional rulers, political leaders, and civic groups across party lines. He stressed that unity and love should be the major prerequisites of the Forum for any lasting progress in Akoko land, and he pledged his full support to the Forum while charging them to operate strictly within the confine of the established laws of the land.
