Hundreds Killed, Injured As Israel Strikes ‘Over 100 Sites Across Lebanon In 10 Minutes’

The development comes as the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that it had completed what it described as its largest coordinated assault on Lebanese territory since the start of “Operation Roaring Lion.”

Hundreds of people have been killed and wounded following a fresh wave of Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, according to Lebanese Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine.

In a statement posted on its official X handle, the IDF said, “In 10 minutes, the IDF completed the largest coordinated strike across Lebanon since the start of Operation Roaring Lion.”

The Israeli military disclosed that the operation targeted more than 100 sites linked to Hezbollah, including “headquarters, military arrays, & command-and-control centers in Beirut, Beqaa and southern Lebanon.”

Providing further details, the IDF listed key targets to include “intelligence command centers and central headquarters used planning terror attacks,” as well as “infrastructure of firepower and naval arrays, responsible for launching missiles.”

It also said the strikes hit “assets of the Radwan Force, & the Aerial unit—Hezbollah’s elite units.”

The large-scale bombardment marks a significant escalation in hostilities, with multiple areas reportedly affected, including the Lebanese capital, Beirut, the Beqaa Valley, and southern Lebanon.

While Lebanese authorities confirmed mass casualties, the exact breakdown of fatalities and injuries remains unclear as emergency responders continue rescue and recovery efforts.

Despite the mounting toll, Israel signalled that the offensive is far from over. The IDF stressed its determination to sustain military pressure on Hezbollah, citing security concerns in northern Israel.

“We will continue striking the Hezbollah terror organization and will utilize every operational opportunity. We will not compromise the security of the residents of northern Israel. We will continue to strike with determination,” said IDF Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, who was overseeing the wave of strikes.

The latest escalation adds to growing tensions in the region, raising fears of a broader conflict as cross-border hostilities intensify between Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters.

Israel had earlier vowed to continue striking Lebanon despite a two weeks ceasefire between Iran and the United States in the Middle East conflict.

There have been calls prior now by different countries for Israel to end hostilities in Lebanon.

Israel however says there is a need to defeat Hezbollah which is an ally of Iran continues to pose threats with its presence in Lebanon.

In the heat of the war, Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Youssef Raggi, announced the withdrawal of agrément for Iran’s designated ambassador to the country, Mohammad Reza Shibani, declaring him persona non grata and ordering his departure from Lebanese territory.

In a statement, Raggi said, “I instructed today the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants to summon the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires in Lebanon to inform him of the decision to withdraw the agrément for the designated Iranian Ambassador, Mohammad Reza Shibani, declare him persona non grata, and request that he leave Lebanese territory no later than 29 March 2026.”
