
NSITF Management Board Chairman, Hon. Sola Olofin, Felicitates Nigerian Workers on International Workers’ Day

The Board Chairman of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, Hon. Sola Olofin, has extended warm felicitations to Nigerian workers on the occasion of International Workers’ Day, commending their resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions to national development.
In his Workers’ Day message, Hon. Olofin praised the unwavering commitment of workers across all sectors of the economy, noting that their efforts remain the backbone of Nigeria’s growth and progress. He emphasized that despite prevailing economic challenges, Nigerian workers have continued to demonstrate diligence, patriotism, and a strong sense of responsibility.
The NSITF Chairman reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to protecting the welfare and rights of workers through its social insurance schemes, particularly the Employees’ Compensation Scheme, which provides support for workers in the event of workplace injuries, disabilities, or death.
Hon. Olofin also urged employers to prioritize the safety, health, and well-being of their workforce, stressing that a motivated and protected workforce is essential for sustainable productivity and economic stability.
He called on all stakeholders—government, private sector, and labor unions—to strengthen collaboration in building a fair and inclusive labor environment where workers are adequately rewarded and protected
As we celebrate this year’s Workers’ Day, I encourage all Nigerian workers to remain steadfast and hopeful. Your sacrifices are not in vain, and together, we will continue to build a stronger and more prosperous nation,” he stated.
Hon. Olofin concluded by wishing all workers a peaceful and fulfilling celebration, while reaffirming the NSITF’s dedication to advancing workers’ welfare across the country.
