APC Senatorial Aspirant for Ondo North, Chief Alexander Oluremi Ajipe, has made a bold pledge to deliver 100,000 votes for the All Progressives Congress in Owo Local Government alone in the 2027 general election but only if he emerges as the party’s candidate.
The promise came today as Ajipe marked his birthday with party leaders, youth groups, and supporters in Owo, turning what could have been a private celebration into a declaration of political intent.
“Give me the ticket, and I will give APC 100,000 votes from Owo alone,” Ajipe declared to a cheering supporters.
“That’s not an empty boast. It’s a commitment built on 20 years of grassroots work, loyalty, and trust with our people. Owo has waited nearly two decades for a Senator. Now we are ready, and we will prove it at the ballot.”
Owo LGA currently has over 87,000 registered voters, with thousands more added during the 2024 Continuous Voter Registration. In recent elections, voter apathy and poor candidate selection have kept APC’s numbers below potential.
Ajipe argues that a credible, homegrown candidate from Owo will reverse that trend and unlock the LGA’s full voting strength.
“Owo owns over 10% of Ondo State’s total votes. If Ondo is sincere about delivering 1 million votes for the President in 2027, then you are incomplete without us,” he said.
“Owo and Ose combined hold the largest voting bloc in Ondo North. If you secure Owo, you have secured Ondo North. If you secure Ondo North, you have secured Ondo State for APC.”
While celebrating his birthday today, Ajipe used the moment to send a direct message to the APC National Working Committee and Ondo State leadership
“This is not about me. This is about equity, strategy, and victory. The people of Owo are not asking for a favor. We are offering APC a guaranteed win in 2027 but only if the process is fair and the people’s choice is respected.”
He warned that any attempt to impose a candidate or disqualify popular aspirants through backdoor screening would demoralize the base and hand the senate seat to opposition parties.
Ajipe’s pledge comes amid growing concerns within APC about autocratic tendencies in candidate selection. Owo stakeholders have repeatedly called for fairness after 20 years without senatorial representation, while opposition parties are reportedly watching APC’s primary process closely.
For Ajipe, his birthday is more than a celebration it’s a contract with both APC and the people of Owo.
“I am not just asking for support. I am putting my reputation and my political capital on the line. 100,000 votes for APC in Owo is the target. We will meet it, and we will exceed it.”
