Panic erupted in Ijebu-Ode on Friday following another suspected gas toxicity incident around the Anglican Girls’ Grammar School area, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, leaving several students affected and rushed to the General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Eyewitnesses reported scenes of confusion and distress as students began experiencing breathing difficulties and other health complications suspected to be linked to toxic gas exposure in the area.
The development sparked widespread fear among parents and guardians, many of whom stormed schools across Ijebu-Ode to withdraw their children amid growing concerns over safety.
Emergency responders and medical personnel were seen attending to affected students, while anxious residents called on relevant authorities to urgently investigate the cause of the incident and prevent further exposure.
