HON MORUF TOSIN POPULARLY KNOWN AS HON MURPHY MAKE HIS DISPLEASURE ON THE PARTY ACTION, QUESTION WHILE HE WAS DISQUALIFIED

It is with deep concern and disappointment that we address the sudden disqualification of HON. MORUF TOSIN (HON. MURPHY) from the APC primary election for the Akoko North Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat.

Hon. Murphy duly attended and participated in the APC screening exercise held over a week ago. He fulfilled all necessary requirements and was actively preparing for the primary election. Shockingly, on the very day of the primary election, the APC National body released the screening outcome that led to his disqualification. This late-hour action raises serious questions about transparency, fairness, and the integrity of the entire process.

Why would the APC National release the screening result on the day of the primary election?
This timing is not only suspicious but also highly irregular. It denies aspirants the opportunity to respond to any alleged issues, seek redress, or prepare alternative political steps. It creates chaos, wastes resources, and erodes confidence in the party’s internal democracy. Many stakeholders are left wondering if this is a deliberate strategy to favour certain candidates or an avoidable administrative failure.

We strongly condemn the conduct of the APC National in the handling of this screening and primary process. Such last-minute disqualifications undermine the principles of justice, equity, and fair play that the All Progressives Congress claims to uphold. It sends a wrong signal to party members and the electorate, suggesting that the process is neither transparent nor merit-based.

We call on the APC National leadership to explain the rationale behind this delayed release of the screening outcome and to ensure that due process is followed in all party primaries. The people of Akoko North deserve a credible process that reflects their will, not one marred by opacity and last-minute surprises.
