Governor Makinde Hands Over 100 Operational Vehicles to Security Agencies in Oyo
Governor Seyi Makinde has strengthened security operations in Oyo State with the official handover of 100 operational vehicles fitted with communication gadgets to various security agencies across the state.
The presentation ceremony, which took place on Friday morning, saw beneficiaries including the Nigeria Police Force, Operation Burst, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Correctional Service, and the Oyo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun.
The governor also presented operational vehicles to the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) as part of efforts to improve traffic control, emergency response, and public safety across the state.
Speaking during the event, Governor Makinde reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that security remains a top priority of his government.
According to him, the provision of modern operational vehicles and communication gadgets would enhance coordination among security agencies, improve rapid response to emergencies, and strengthen intelligence gathering across Oyo State.
He noted that the collaboration between security agencies has played a major role in maintaining peace and stability in the state, adding that the government would continue to invest in logistics and infrastructure needed for effective security operations.
The governor urged the agencies to make proper use of the vehicles and ensure they are deployed for the benefit of residents and the overall safety of the state.
Residents and stakeholders have commended the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that would boost the capacity of security personnel and contribute to safer communities across Oyo State.
