ADC Party Uploads Atiku, Amaechi’s Names To INEC Nomination Portal For 2027 Polls
According to Abdullahi, the submission of the candidates’ details to the electoral body’s portal underscores the party’s determination to position itself as a viable alternative for Nigerians ahead of the next presidential election.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that it has successfully uploaded the names and particulars of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the nomination portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), marking what the party described as another milestone in its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, by the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who disclosed the development in a post on his Facebook page.
According to Abdullahi, the submission of the candidates’ details to the electoral body’s portal underscores the party’s determination to position itself as a viable alternative for Nigerians ahead of the next presidential election.
He wrote, “We are pleased to announce that we have successfully uploaded the names and particulars of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar (GCON), and our Vice Presidential Candidate, Rt Hon Chibuike R Amaechi (CON), to the nomination portal of INEC Nigeria.”Geographic Referenc
Abdullahi described the upload as an important stage in the party’s electoral preparations, adding that the ADC remains committed to presenting what it believes is a credible platform capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
“This marks another important step in our preparations for the 2027 general election and our commitment to offer Nigerians a credible alternative built on competence, unity, and national renewal,” he stated.
The development comes as political parties continue to intensify internal preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with alliances, consultations and candidate selections gathering momentum across the country’s political landscape.
The ADC has in recent months positioned itself as one of the platforms seeking to challenge the dominance of the country’s major political parties, with the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate and former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as his running mate.
The upload of the candidates’ particulars to the INEC nomination portal represents one of the procedural steps required in the electoral process, as political parties continue to comply with the commission’s guidelines ahead of the 2027 polls.
