NORTH WEST DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION HOLDS STRATEGIC MEETING WITH GOVERNOR ABBA KABIR YUSUF, COMMISSIONS NEW TEMPORARY HEADQUARTERS DONATED BY THE KANO STATE GOVERNMENT

The North West Development Commission (NWDC) recorded another major milestone as members of its Board held a strategic meeting with the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside the commissioning of the Commission’s temporary headquarters generously donated by the Kano State Government.

As part of the event, Hon. Aminu Suleiman, a member of the Commission’s Board, donated a parcel of land for the permanent site of the North West Development Commission. In addition, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, donated a building to serve as the Commission’s temporary headquarters, demonstrating their shared commitment to the growth and successful take-off of the Commission.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the North West Development Commission, the Managing Director, members of the Commission’s Board, including Hon. Aminu Suleiman and Hon. Babatunde Dada, who represents the South West geopolitical zone on the Board, the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, the Honourable Minister of State for Regional Development, and other distinguished guests.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf officially hosted the Commission and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the North West Development Commission in achieving its mandate of driving sustainable development across the region.

Following the commissioning ceremony, the Board held a strategic meeting with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to strengthen collaboration between the Commission and the Kano State Government.
Discussions centred on critical areas including infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, industrial growth, and economic development.

During the meeting, Board members reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to partnering with state governments to deliver impactful projects and programmes that will improve the living standards of the people and accelerate socio-economic growth across the North West.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf commended the leadership of the Commission for its dedication to regional integration and development. He assured the Board of the Kano State Government’s continued cooperation in ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives that will benefit Kano State and the entire North West region.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment by the North West Development Commission, the Federal Ministry of Regional Development, and the Kano State Government to foster a strong partnership that will drive sustainable development, create economic opportunities, and improve the quality of life of the people across the North West geopolitical zone.
