Mammoth Crowd Welcomes Ex-US Naval Personnel, Dr. Adeniran Oyebade, Back to APC

Mammoth crowd of party leaders, stakeholders, supporters and well wishers on Monday welcomed former United States Naval personnel, Dr. Adeniran Oyebade, back to the All Progressives Congress (APC), as he formally returned to the party after a period outside its fold.

Oyebade, popularly associated with the political advocacy for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, used the occasion to clarify his position on the ongoing political alignments within the APC, stressing that his return was principally motivated by his commitment to President Tinubu and the success of the administration.

Addressing the gathering, Oyebade declared that he was not returning to the APC to identify with any faction or political group within the party. He specifically stated that he was neither for Bunmi Tunji Ojo nor for any faction that did not receive him back into the party.

“I returned to APC to support Tinubu, not to join any factions,” Oyebade said, while reaffirming his loyalty to the President and the broader interests of the APC.

He further dismissed what he described as unrealistic political calculations emanating from Abuja, particularly suggestions about the direction of the next governorship contest in Ondo State.

Oyebade also recalled his longstanding support for President Tinubu, claiming that he was among the earliest individuals to publicly advocate for Tinubu’s presidential ambition before the eventual declaration.

“Tinubu was my project,” he declared, adding that he had announced Tinubu’s presidential ambition to the public before the former Lagos State governor formally declared his intention to contest the presidency.

He said his history with the Tinubu project was well known, stressing that his decision to return to the APC was driven by his desire to continue supporting the President rather than become entangled in internal factional struggles.

The event attracted a broad representation of APC leaders and stakeholders, reflecting the significance attached to Oyebade’s return to the party.
Among those in attendance were the party chairman, Pastor Raphael Owolabi; party vice chairman, Hon. Raphael Adetimehin; women leader, Hon. Mrs. Adeola Agunbiade; party secretary, Comr. Omololu Abel; assistant secretary, Mrs. Adekemi Precious; party Publicity Secretary, Comr. Richard Akinbamire; assistant Publicity Secretary, Comr. Akeem Oshodi; assistant auditor, Comr. Biodynamic Kayode; party ex-officio member, Comr. Tunde Akinrinmade; Ward 11 chairman, Hon. Taofik; Ward 11 youth leader, Otunba Sile Adebowale; the Ward 11 women leader, The representative of the Nigerian Youth Congress Ado Ekiti Chapter alongside numerous other party members and supporters.

The gathering provided an opportunity for party stakeholders to welcome Oyebade and reaffirm their commitment to the APC, while his remarks added another dimension to the political conversations ahead of the 2027 elections.

Oyebade’s return is expected to generate further discussions within the Ondo State APC, particularly regarding the evolving political alliances, his influence across the senatorial districts and the expected realignments ahead of the next election.

For Oyebade, however, his message was clear, his return to the APC is anchored on his support for President Tinubu and the party, rather than allegiance to any internal faction.
