The Effects of Distinguished Senator Jimoh Ibrahim’s Court Action and Why Court Is Not the Ultimate Solution
It is true that Senator Jimoh Ibrahim was not the only aspirant in the APC primary election on April 20th. But after losing, he took the winner, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, to court.
There are several reasons why this is not a good move. Firstly, it messes with the democratic process within the APC party. Primaries are for party members to pick their candidate. By going to court, Senator Ibrahim is questioning the party’s fairness and authority.
Also, it is clear this will divide the party even more. The Senator’s actions will create more conflict and weaken the party, making it not easy to win the November election if care is not taken.
Going to court also looks bad to the public, especially other parties like the PDP. It seems like trying to cheat rather than respecting the party’s choice.
This legal action hurts the party’s reputation and future chances. It is costly and time-consuming, taking attention and money away from important tasks.
To cap it all, Senator Ibrahim’s move is causing big problems for the party, inside and out. It is better for party members to solve issues among themselves, not in court, for the sake of party interests.
