Barayan Bauchi Salutes a Legacy of Service and Patriotism as Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, OFR, Celebrates 100 Years

The Chairman, Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko (Barayan Bauchi), sends goodwill and solidarity to elder statesman, frontline politician, political colossus, and patriot, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, OFR, Ex-Presidential Adviser during the 2nd Republic, whose wealth of experience and pedigree has helped shape Nigerian politics in our collective journey towards true nationhood.

It is on record that Elder Statesman Alhaji Tanko Yakasai and my late Father, Alhaji Muhammad Baban Takko (Barayan Bauchi), a very prominent Politician in Bauchi State then, and the entire Northern Nigeria, were close and bosom friends. My late revered Father, Alhaji Muhammad Baban Takko, and history has it that whenever Alh. Tanko Yakasai came to Bauchi, he stayed in our residence throughout his stay in Bauchi State.

On behalf of myself, my family, Political Associates, friends, and well-wishers, I extend sincere felicitations to this indefatigable and uncommon leader, who has nurtured younger generations of Northern Nigerians, and generational leaders, in the act of selfless service, humility, teamwork, and sacrifices aimed at a prosperous Northern Nigeria as well as a United Nigeria where peace, unity, and organic solidarity exist, in line with our founding fathers, i.e., Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, who happens to be the first and last Nigerian Prime Minister; Sir Ahmadu Bello (The Sardauna of Sokoto); Late Solomon Lar; Late Mallam Aminu Kano; Late J S Tarka; Late Alhaji Muhammad Baban Takko (The Barayan Bauchi), amongst other compatriots who fought for Northern unity and organic solidarity.

Interestingly, it is on record that Alhaji Tanko Yakasai is a great grassroots Mobiliser and Political juggernaut in Northern Nigeria. He was also the first prominent Politician who endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidential aspiration in the build-up to the 2023 Presidential Elections, by getting very prominent Politicians from the North under the auspices of the foremost Northern Alliance Committee (NAC), whose membership cuts across the entire Northern Nigeria.

To the glory of Allah (SWT), they worked for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu/Shettima’s candidacy, leading to their emergence in the exalted position. As Alh. Tanko Yakasai clocks this Golden Age of 100 fruitful years on Mother Earth, I wish him more glorious moments, wisdom, and prosperity, as his vast wealth of immeasurable experience is needed now, in this momentous period of our Nation Building, to complement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s desire of taking our great country to the next and desired levels, with the Administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda yielding fruitful results.

Moreover, Centenarian Alhaji Tanko Yakasai is really a jolly good fellow who has been unrelenting and uncompromising in rallying support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, in all its ramifications, from the beginning of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidency to date!

As a stalwart of Nigerian politics, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai’s centenary milestone is a testament to his dedication to public service and nation-building. His life and legacy continue to inspire generations of Nigerians, and his counsel remains invaluable to the nation’s leadership.

I pray that Allah (SWT) will grant both the Elder Statesman Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, OFR, and His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, many more glorious years in their greater service to humanity, the Nigerian State, and for the greatest good of the greatest majority of all Nigerians, and beyond the shores of this blessed nation.
