MY SINCERE PLEA TO THE AGGRIEVED MEMBERS OF THE APC IN ONDO STATE
I feel compelled by the Holy Spirit to once again urge the aggrieved members of our esteemed party in Ondo State to come together and prepare for the upcoming gubernatorial election in November this year. Our unity is crucial now that the primary elections have concluded, and His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa has been chosen as the victor.
It is vital for the key stakeholders to prioritize the party’s interests over their own self-interests. Our unity as a party family is what binds us together.
Many members of our party have not seen significant benefits, while only a few have, yet they continue to vie for the top position in the state without fulfilling their responsibilities to their senatorial districts. We, the people of Ondo State, expect more from them and are ready to hold them accountable.
As members of the APC in Ondo State, we abide by the decisions of the party leadership, particularly the National Working Committee, recognizing that the strength of our party lies within it.
We implore the aggrieved members to reconsider and prioritize unity over personal ambitions by accepting the outcome of the primary elections. The elections have passed, and we must respect the decisions made by the party leadership.
It is worth noting that some individuals who won elections in the past did so through similar processes and the support of party members. They lacked grassroots support and only succeeded due to the influence of party leaders.
In contrast, the recent primary elections were deemed credible, fair, and transparent by the party leadership, unlike previous instances of manipulation and imposition, which brought some of them into political positions.
In conclusion, we urge all aggrieved members to promote peace within the party, focusing on the upcoming gubernatorial election rather than tearing down the party for personal gain. Additionally, those who have benefited should consider sharing opportunities with other deserving members, as politics should serve the interests of all its members and the larger society as a whole.
