Hon. Bidemi Akinwomoju Gives Father a Befitting Farewell in Ileoluji

Ileoluji Kingdom came alive on Saturday, April 11, 2026, as family, friends, associates, and well-wishers gathered in large numbers to bid a final farewell to a revered educationist and devoted Christian, Deacon Nathaniel Akintomiwa Akinwomoju.

The late Pa Akinwomoju, who passed on October 30, 2025, at the age of 85 in his Akure residence, was laid to rest in a ceremony marked by dignity, honour, and deep reflection on a life well spent.

His burial drew dignitaries from far and wide, underscoring the impact he made during his lifetime.

A man of remarkable intellect and dedication, Pa Akinwomoju devoted his life to the advancement of education in Nigeria.

He served as Principal of Federal Government College, Idoani between 1999 and 2002, and held several key positions across the nation’s educational landscape. His career spanned teaching roles in over ten schools, including Gboluji Grammar School and Federal Government College, Kazaure. He also served as Vice Principal at Federal Government College, Odogbolu, and later rose to the position of Assistant Director of Budget and Planning at the Federal Ministry of Education. Additionally, he contributed to national development as a Board Member of the National Universities Commission.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Pa Akinwomoju was widely known for his unwavering faith and commitment to Christian service. He was a devoted member of Araromi Baptist Church, Ileoluji, as well as First Baptist Church, Akure, where he served God faithfully until his last days.

He is survived by his loving wife, six children—including Hon. Bidemi Akinwomoju—and many grandchildren, all of whom continue to uphold his legacy of integrity, service, and devotion.

The final rites concluded with his interment at his residence, No. 17 Adejayan Temidire, Ileoluji, Ondo State, bringing to a close a life of purpose, impact, and enduring legacy.
Indeed, the grand farewell accorded him reflects the profound respect and admiration he earned throughout his lifetime.
