ALERT ON PLANNED PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN AGAINST APC CANDIDATE, ASIWAJU MUNIRUDEEN BOLA OYEBAMIJI (AMBO)
The AMBO Media Fronts have uncovered a deliberate and coordinated plan by the Osun State Government under Governor Ademola Adeleke to launch a sustained campaign of destructive propaganda against the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15 governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
According to credible information at our disposal, this plan involves the systematic dissemination of negative news, falsehoods and malicious narratives across newspapers, radio, television, and social media platforms.
The objective is to tarnish the image of a gentleman politician whose governorship aspiration continues to gain remarkable momentum across the length and breadth of Osun State.
It is no longer in doubt that the people of Osun have moved beyond seeing AMBO as just another candidate. Across communities, he is increasingly regarded as a governor-in-waiting—one who has consistently demonstrated the qualities of intentional and purposeful leadership, along with the capacity to steer the state towards progress and financial stability.
Having failed in their desperate search to link Asiwaju Oyebamiji to any credible wrongdoing, the outgoing administration has now resorted to sponsoring outright falsehoods and coordinated smear campaigns. This campaign of calumny, we are informed, is designed to be sustained relentlessly until the day of the election in a misguided belief that such tactics can diminish his growing electoral value and chances.
We therefore wish to put the good people of Osun State on notice regarding this disturbing and anti-democratic plot. We urge citizens to remain vigilant and to discountenance any such baseless publications and broadcasts, which are nothing more than a low-level and backdoor strategy aimed at misleading the electorate.
Rather than engaging in propaganda and mudslinging, Governor Adeleke and his handlers should be prepared to campaign based on the strength—or otherwise—of their record in office over the past three years.
Indeed, the people of Osun deserve clear answers to critical questions: Why was the N2 billion federal government grant meant for the procurement of luxury buses in 2023—intended to cushion the impact of fuel subsidy removal—not transparently accounted for? How has the N12 billion ecological fund released by the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in August 2025 been expended? And how does the administration justify a situation where, despite receiving close to one trillion naira in about 40 months, the people continue to grapple with deep, multi-dimensional poverty, including students in state-owned universities now burdened with fees reportedly as high as N1.5 million per session?
These are the issues that matter to the people—not contrived propaganda against a credible alternative.
Osun voters are discerning and will not be swayed by desperate attempts to manipulate public opinion. The future of the state lies in leadership that is transparent, accountable, and committed to genuine development. That is what AMBO represents and no destructive campaign of the outgoing government can taint the profound and sterling profile of the APC flag-bearer.
