Hon. Oluwole Ogumolasuyi Visits Upenmen Community, Assures Swift Government Action on Insecurity
Residents of Upenmen community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, received a show of solidarity and reassurance as their representative at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Oluwole Ogumolasuyi, paid an assessment visit and to synpertise with the Community following recent security concerns in the area.
The visit comes in the wake of rising insecurity, particularly the troubling kidnapping of a former student leader, Mr. Kolade, who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Tuesday night. The incident has heightened tension within the community, prompting urgent calls for intervention.
During his visit, Hon. Ogumolasuyi first stopped at the palace of the traditional ruler, Oba Ebenezer Adewumi Ogumolasuyi, where he expressed his sympathy and concern over the situation. He assured the monarch that the government is already taking decisive steps to secure the safe rescue of the victim and strengthen security measures in the area.
The lawmaker also visited the residence of Princess Olufunmilayo Ademulegun Brown, a respected political leader in the community, where he extended his support and reiterated his commitment to addressing the security challenges.
In a further effort to boost local defense efforts, Hon. Ogumolasuyi engaged with members of the community’s vigilante groups. He commended their dedication and encouraged them to remain steadfast in protecting lives and property, while emphasizing the importance of collaboration with formal security agencies.
Oba Ebenezer Adewumi Ogumolasuyi, in his remarks, expressed deep appreciation for the lawmaker’s timely visit, noting that it reflects true leadership and responsiveness in moments of crisis. He described the gesture as reassuring and called for sustained government presence until normalcy is fully restored.
Princess Olufunmilayo Ademulegun Brown also praised Hon. Ogumolasuyi for standing with the people during a difficult time. She highlighted that his visit has boosted morale within the community and expressed confidence that his efforts would translate into meaningful action.
Hon. Ogumolasuyi concluded by urging residents to remain calm but vigilant, advising them to promptly report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that swift government action is taken to rescue the abducted victim and improve overall security in the community.
