OSAGYEFO Bola’ Ajimuda Mourns High Chief C.O. Akindolire, Describes Him as Mentor and Father Figure
OSAGYEFO Bola’ Ajimuda, the Federal Character Commissioner representing Ondo State in Abuja, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of High Chief C.O. Akindolire, fondly known as “ABA LISA,” describing his death as a personal and communal loss.
In a heartfelt tribute, Ajimuda reflected on the profound influence the late High Chief had on his life, portraying him as more than a leader. “ABA LISA was my benefactor, guardian, father, leader, and very close friend. I admired him deeply and have always hoped to shape my life along the path he walked,” he said.
Ajimuda noted that the late Akindolire belonged to a rare class of distinguished individuals whose lives were defined by purpose, excellence, and service.
He likened him to another revered figure, High Chief Bayo Akinnola, the late Lisa of Ondo Kingdom, stating that both men lived lives marked by power, royalty, affluence, and impactful service to humanity and God.
High Chief Akindolire’s legacy, according to Ajimuda, cuts across professional excellence and traditional leadership. As Chairman and Chief Executive of the defunct Cocoa Board during the golden era of the old Western Region, he played a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s agricultural and economic landscape.
A Chartered Accountant, economist, and entrepreneur, he was also recognized as one of the bright minds in early post colonial boardroom politics.
The federal commissioner further recalled witnessing the late chief’s transition from corporate life to traditional service, as he relocated from Lagos to Idanre to fully embrace his cultural and community responsibilities. He described him as a “great solution provider,” a man of deep intellect and wisdom who embodied the ideals of the legendary “Sage” generation.
A great community builder, mentor, and leader, his life stood as a reference point for excellence in leadership and service. He lived in royalty, power, and politics, yet remained committed to humanity and faith,” Ajimuda added.
While mourning his passing, Ajimuda extended his condolences to the good people of Idanre and the bereaved family, acknowledging the weight of the loss. He expressed hope that the enduring legacy of the late High Chief would continue to inspire generations.
“I salute ABA LISA in departure. I mourn with the Idanre community and share in the grief of his family. Like the sages before him, he has exited leaving behind indelible footprints.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace, He concluded with a solemn farewell, “Good night, Baba Akindolire. Good night, ABA LISA.”
