*NEW ENTRANT SHAKE OWO-OSE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY AS GHANI ROTIMI AROBO DELIVERS SHOCKING PERFORMANCE*
*Owo, Ondo State*– In a stunning display that has left political analysts scrambling for explanations, political newcomer Ghani Rotimi Arobo (popularly known as GRA) has emerged as a formidable force in the Owo-Ose Federal Constituency race, defying expectations and sending shockwaves through the established political order.
According to results collated by our correspondents across the constituency, the first-time contender has taken a commanding lead in 10 out of 11 wards in Owo Local Government Area, where voting activities were closely monitored. His impressive showing has transformed what many pundits predicted would be a routine re-election for the incumbent into a fiercely contested battle.
The real drama unfolded in Ose Local Government Area, the political stronghold and home base of the incumbent, Honourable Adelegbe. Despite the expected home advantage, Arobo mounted a spirited challenge that turned several polling units into cliffhangers.
In Okeluse, the homestead of the incumbent, Adelegbe, recorded a total of 205 votes in his parallel primaries. Whereas, in the APC conducted primaries supervised by INEC, Arobo lead other aspirants by scoring 165 votes. The near-parity in the incumbent’s backyard has been described by observers as a moral victory for the newcomer.
However, Arobo delivered a decisive and flawless victory in Ute Ward, where he garnered a massive 596 votes and led other aspirants with a wide margin that has left political watchers stunned.
As results continue to trickle in from other key areas such as Idoani, Afo, Imeri and surrounding communities, Arobo’s overall performance is already being hailed as one of the most remarkable debut campaigns in the recent democratic history of the federal constituency and indeed Nigeria.
Political observers note that Arobo’s ability to penetrate the incumbent’s territory and record such significant numbers in a short time signals a potential shift in the political dynamics of Owo-Ose. Many attribute his strong outing to grassroots mobilisation, a message of fresh leadership, and dissatisfaction with the status quo among the electorate.
A political analyst who spoke on condition of anonymity described the development as “a clear message that the people are yearning for new blood and better representation.”
