Akoko NW Council Boss, Owolabi Esan, Celebrates Children’s Day at Catholic Church Irun

The Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest LG, Hon. Owolabi Esan, marked Children’s Day 2026 ahead of the actual day (Wednesday, May 27th) at St Benedict Catholic Church, Irun Akoko, Ondo State.

He celebrated with the children, valuing their development and identifying with them. He was accompanied by cabinet aides, council delegates, and staff.

Father Joseph Dada, the Catholic Church’s reverend father, welcomed Chairman Owolabi and appreciated his presence. He noted the community’s positive experience with the chairman’s leadership and urged him to continue on the same path, saying rewards come from God.

Reverend Father Dada prayed for the chairman’s success and took his sermon from the Acts of the Apostles, advising good character. He prayed for collective peace and unity in the nation.

Chairman Owolabi thanked Akoko Northwest for supporting his administration. He said last year’s service was at CAC No 1, Odoirun, and chose this church for this year’s celebration.

Owolabi promised to support the children, calling them “the salt of society and tomorrow’s leaders.” He advised youths to avoid acts that could jeopardize their destiny, like hard drugs and crime, and to focus on their studies.

Owolabi praised the state governor, His Excellency Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for providing purposeful leadership, citing achievements in education, infrastructure, agriculture, economy, and security.

After his address, he donated generously to support the church service, and photos were taken to commemorate the event.
