Ex-Ondo Governor’s wife, Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu Secures Labour Party Clearance for Owerri House of Representatives Race

CERTIFICATE OF CLEARANCE AS LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATE FOR OWERRI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

I hereby officially inform my family, friends, political associates, supporters, and the good people of Owerri Federal Constituency that I have successfully obtained my Certificate of Clearance as the Labour Party candidate for the House of Representatives, Owerri Federal Constituency.

I understand that some may feel disappointed that I did not clinch the Senatorial ticket. Indeed, the decision to transition to the House of Representatives race was not an easy one. However, it became necessary in the overriding interest of party unity and stability, especially at a time when our great party is working collectively to rebuild after a prolonged period bedevilled by internal crisis and court actions.

I chose to be a team player in a party led by a fellow woman — one of the major reasons I joined the Labour Party in the first place. I firmly believe that sacrifice, cooperation, and unity are indispensable to building a stronger and more formidable political platform for victory in 2027.

I wish to reiterate that my mission remains unchanged, regardless of the chamber in which I eventually serve in the National Assembly: to advance female representation in elective positions and provide compassionate, courageous, and purposeful leadership anchored on experience, credibility, competence, and service to humanity.

Therefore, I urge everyone not to despair, lose faith, or relent. Let us continue this journey together with renewed determination and hope until we reach our destination in 2027.
