The Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, on Thursday, 25th June 2026, approved the appointment of Mr Bamidele Abiodun OLUKOJU as the sixth substantive Bursar of the University. The appointment has a tenure of five years. Mr Olukoju takes over from Dr. A. Tobi ORINA, whose tenure ends on 30th June 2026.
Mr. Olukoju, Bamidele Abiodun is a distinguished accountant, administrator, and scholar whose career reflects excellence, integrity and dedicated service. Born in Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State.
He had his early education at Ajowa Community Primary School, Ajowa-Akoko and Ikare Grammar School, Ikare-Akoko, before proceeding to the University of Abuja, National Open University of Nigeria and Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, where he is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration.
Professionally, he has distinguished himself in the accounting profession, rising through several responsible positions to his current role as Deputy Bursar at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, so also at Federal University Oye Ekiti. His services have included leadership of Treasury Services, Management Services, Accounting Services, Loans and Advances, Budget Controls and Expenditure, as well as key responsibilities in revenue reporting, bank reconciliation, payroll supervision and financial administrations.
Before joining the University system, he built solid experience in banking, auditing, financial analysis and consultancy, serving in organizations such as Pinnacle Micro-Finance Bank, J. Walter Udoeyop & Co., Essential HealthCare Ltd., Olivr Pearl Ltd., SAOK Consult and the National Youth Service Corps at BPE, Presidency, Abuja.
At Adekunle Ajasin University, he has served on several committees and special assignments, contributing meaningfully to institutional development, financial reforms, e-payment implementation and the auditing of university accounts. He has also acted in the capacity of Bursar on several occasions, a testament to the trust reposed in him by the university management.
A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and a Registered member of Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria. He has also participated in numerous conferences, workshops, and professional trainings, demonstrating a continuous commitment to growth and excellence.
Mr. Olukoju has contributed to academia as a part-time lecturer in the Accounting Department of Adekunle Ajasin University and has co-authored notable publications in accounting and sustainability reporting.
Mr Bamidele OLUKOJU is happily married with children.
