HON. ADEMOLA ADEGOKE TESLIM ALAWUJE (WHITE LION) COMMISERATES WITH BODE HERBS MARKET TRADERS, IBADAN, OVER DEVASTATING FIRE OUTBREAK
Hon. Ademola Adegoke Teslim Alawuje, popularly known as White Lion and a prominent APC stalwart in Ibadan South-West/Ibadan North-West Federal Constituency, has expressed deep sympathy to the traders and entire people of Ibadan following the devastating fire outbreak that ravaged the Bode Traditional Herbs Market, popularly known as Iso Alagbo, in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area
The unfortunate incident, which occurred in the late hours of Thursday and continued into the early hours of Friday, destroyed several shops stocked with traditional herbs, animal skins, and other valuable goods worth millions of naira, leaving many traders in distress
Hon. Alawuje described the incident as painful and heartbreaking, especially coming barely weeks after the tragic fire outbreak at Dugbe Market. He noted that the repeated occurrence of market fires calls for urgent and coordinated efforts to strengthen fire safety measures across major markets in Oyo State.
While thanking God that no life was lost and commending the swift intervention of the Oyo State Fire Service for preventing the fire from spreading further, Hon. Alawuje urged the Oyo State Government, well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations, and humanitarian bodies to urgently provide relief materials, financial assistance, and other support to the affected traders to help them recover from their losses.
He further advocated for the installation of functional firefighting equipment, regular electrical safety inspections, and sustained public awareness campaigns on fire prevention in markets across the state.
Hon. Alawuje prayed that Almighty God would comfort the affected traders, grant them the strength to overcome the painful losses, and provide them with the resources needed to rebuild their businesses.
