Deputy Senate President Sacks Aide Over ‘Abba Must Go’ Social Media Post

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has relieved one of his aides, Special Legislative Aide (SLA) Umar Alhassan, popularly known as King Indara, of his appointment over a social media post calling for the removal of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Indara, a popular Kano TikToker, had posted the words “Abba Must Go” on his Facebook page on Friday.

In another part of the post, he stated that Kano is for former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, while also noting that he remains a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The dismissal was announced in a statement issued by Senator Barau’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Shitu Madaki Kunchi.

According to the statement, Indara was relieved of his appointment over what it described as indiscipline and disrespect towards Governor Yusuf.

It said the post was contrary to the values of respect and decorum upheld by the office of the Deputy President of the Senate and inconsistent with the principles of the APC.

The statement further said the decision was in line with Senator Barau’s position that members of the APC should support the party from the national level down to the grassroots.

Indara’s appointment was formally terminated on September 18, 2026.Try Time Trackers
