The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard M. Doro, today paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, as part of activities marking the HoPE-CT Beneficiary Engagement in the state.
The Governor, who was unavoidably absent, was ably represented by the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Senator Dr. Akon Eyakenyi, who warmly received the Minister and his delegation on behalf of the state government.
The high-level engagement underscored the shared commitment between the Federal Government and the Akwa Ibom State Government to deepen collaboration in the delivery of humanitarian services, social protection programmes, and sustainable poverty reduction initiatives.
Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening ongoing interventions under the HoPE-CT programme, ensuring that vulnerable populations across the state benefit meaningfully from government support schemes.
Both parties emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and community engagement in achieving impactful results.
The visit further reinforced the synergy between federal and state authorities in addressing socio-economic challenges and improving the welfare and livelihoods of citizens, particularly the most vulnerable.
The HoPE-CT Beneficiary Engagement continues to serve as a critical platform for evaluating progress, gathering feedback, and enhancing the effectiveness of poverty alleviation programmes across the country.
